CloseThe Völkl Kendo 88 is the ultimate all-mountain freerider, designed for experienced skiers who seek powerful turns and versatility on any terrain. This ski boasts a state-of-the-art build, offering a wide range of possibilities for those who love to push their skiing limits. Like the new Mantra and Kenja, the Kendo 88 comes with revised geometry and a one-meter shorter center radius in its 3D Radius Sidecut. What sets this ski apart is the incorporation of three different radii in one ski, making it incredibly versatile for cornering. The addition of a 16-meter radius in the middle further enhances its flexibility. If you thrive on tight turns cut fully on the edge, this ski is your ticket to thrills. It encourages a sporty, intuitive style on groomed slopes and provides the maneuverability needed to tackle challenging terrains, all while requiring less force, thanks to the shorter center radius.
Rocker Type: Tip & Tail Rocker – The ski's rocker profile features an upward bend in the shovel (tip) and tail zones while maintaining a camber shape in the middle. This design allows for ease in initiating turns and setting an edge, enhancing control.
Sidecut: 3D Radius Sidecut – This ski boasts a 3D Radius Sidecut, offering three different radii within one ski shape. These radii include longer ones at the tip and tail, providing stability and smoothness, along with a shorter radius in the mid-body, allowing skiers to transition from long, sweeping turns to short turns at their discretion, regardless of speed.
Core: Multilayer Woodcore – The ski's core combines beech and poplar woods, resulting in an extremely durable wood core. This composition places hard wood in the binding area for strength and lighter wood surrounding it for an overall high-performance experience.
Laminates:
Tailored Carbon Tips: Innovative manufacturing techniques are employed to create Tailored Carbon Tips. This process involves positioning individual carbon fibers onto a carrier material with precision. The alignment of carbon fibers along stress lines opens up new possibilities for enhancing the ski's performance at the front, which significantly impacts its handling.
Tailored Titanal Frame: The size of the frames in the ski is customized based on the skier's height, skiing ability, and power. Longer ski models have a higher titanal content, providing more stiffness, direct power transmission, and enhanced dampening. In contrast, shorter lengths feature lower titanal content, resulting in a more agile ski. This design caters to smaller, lighter, or less powerful skiers, allowing them to fully utilize the ski's performance potential.
Sidewalls: Full Sidewall – The ski is equipped with full-length sidewalls, facilitating direct and robust power transmission.
Base: P-Tex 2100 – The ski is equipped with a sintered high-density and high molecular weight polyethylene base, known for its exceptional gliding characteristics and high durability.
Binding Compatibility: It is recommended to choose ski bindings with a brake width that corresponds to the ski's waist width, with a maximum difference of 15mm. This ensures proper fit and compatibility between the bindings and the ski, which is crucial for optimal on-slope performance.
